CR1200R Firmware Upgrade Software Version 2.2G

This program allows the users to upgrade their CR1200R firmware to version 2.2G.   CR1200R users can check their firmware version by pressing the SETUP key and selecting SYSTEM STATUS. Users of the software will be prompted during the initial setup to enter the appropriate model number (CR1200R).   

Please note that this upgrade will erase any current channel plan programming.  We recommend that prior to upgrading, you view each of the channels in your channel plan and note which channels are 64 QAM, 256 QAM or any other special settings.  That way you can easily put them back after the update.

If you like you can use the Remote Windows Software to update the channel plan on your computer rather than by using the front panel of the CR1200(R).  Once you have updated the firmware and installed the Windows remote software, you will be able to store your channel plans on your computer and put them back in your instrument after future firmware updates.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

The following features are activated or added as a result of firmware version 2.2G.

• AUTODIAG is now permanently “on”
• Contrast adjustment using the backlight key
• Enhanced 44 Mhz. IF measurements
• Channel table editing highlights active channel table first
• The POWERDOWN timer has variable times (instead of being “on/off”)

To use either the Remote Windows Software or the Firmware Upgrade Software with your CR1200(R) you will need a straight through RS-232 extension cable.  This is a cable normally used to extend the length of an RS-232 connection with a DB9 female on one end and a DB9 male on the other.  This type of cable is readily available at any computer or office supply store.  As a convenience you can order the correct cable online from Connect World.

Note that some straight through RS-232 cables come with lug nuts on the male end of the cable that is connected to the instrument.  You will need to remove these lug nuts from the connector as they are already installed on the instrument.
